This first picture is Roll and Read. Roll the dice and answer the question in a discussion. But if you want to take an extra step, have the students write their answer and illustrate.
The following picture showcases book mark style questions you might want to do in whole group or in a small guided reading group. You could also have students write answers and illustrate with the answer sheet.
This is the grammar part of this resource. If you are working on nouns or verbs, or just want to review, this is the perfect way for doing just that! Pass out the noun page and have students look for nouns in a the book. They can write them in as they go along. This can be done in a small group center, guided reading or whole group.
If you need to assess your students, this is an end of unit study including an answer key. The running record would be used for students reading at a letter O, however there is a blank running record that can work with any book that comes with this resource.
