9 Activities for Officer Buckle and Gloria!

Officer Buckle and Gloria Activities will help students with activities to understand plot with comprehension questions, games, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, phonics, comprehension strategies, sequencing, writing, and a comprehension test with answer key! Officer Buckle and Gloria Activities is great for guided reading or whole group! Officer Buckle and Gloria was written by Peggy Rathman and must be purchased separately.

Here are 9+ activities you can use with Officer Buckle and Gloria! :)  

1. Roll the dice, find vocabulary or comprehension and discuss or write it on the response sheet.
 2.  Students read the book and answer the vocabulary questions.  Illustrate too!
3.  Cut these bookmarks out, and place in the book during your shared read-aloud.   Or give to students after they have read it at the guided reading table.  Students can respond on the reading response sheet. OR :) Pass out the question cards and have students answer the questions on the response sheet!

 4.   There are several comprehension strategies covered in this book.  Model to students with these graphic organizers in whole group, guided reading center, or other reading center.
 5.  More, more, more comprehension strategies!
 6.  Do you need to reinforce these grammar skills?  Easy to add to a center!
 7.  Here is a fun game to print and pop into a center.  There is a black and white copy.  Cut the vocabulary cards. Students draw a card on their turn, find it in the book and discuss the meaning.
 8.  Running records and end of unit assessment!
 9.  Have students pick their favorite safety tip from the book and write about why it is their favorite. OR, have students create their own safety tip. They can color the star and girl/boy. Hang in the hallway for a cute display!
